The Pioneers improved their conference record to 4-0 Tuesday by sweeping the Blytheville Chickasaws in two 5 inning, run ruled games. The one, two combined punch from the mound of Eary and Rayford completely overwhelmed the Chickasaw batters with Eary only facing 2 batters more than the 15 required to complete 5 innings. He struck out 5 along the way while only allowing 2 hits. Rayford faced 18 picking up 6 strikeouts, also allowing only 2 hits.

In the first game the Pioneers get on the board in the second when Jason Angel reaches with a double, steals third and is scored when Nick Palase hits safely. The Pioneers tack on four more runs in the third when lead off batter Hunter Platt is hit by a pitch, steals second and third and scores on an error. Eary triples and is hit in by Milum. Milum is relieved by Kyle McMullin at first, and eventually scores on a Blytheville outfield error. Aaron Thornton hits on advances on an error, steals third and is scored by the last hit of the inning, a Palase double. The Pioneers close the gate in the fourth when Platt walks and is scored by the first of two Nick Davidson home runs of the series. Eary picks up his second three bagger of the game and is scored by another Milum hit. McMullin relieves Milum and is scored by Thornton with a home run. This brings the score to 10-0 and Eary sits the Chickasaws down in order in the top of the fifth to end the game. In the second game the Pioneers put four on the board in the second inning when lead off batter Thornton hits on and is scored when Angel becomes the third Pioneer of the evening to pick up a home run. Rayford reaches on a fielder's choice, steals second and is advanced to third by Platt with a hit. Rayford scoreds on a passed ball which leaves Platt at third. Platt scores on an Eary double, to bring the score to 4-0 Pioneers. In the third the Pioneers add another run when Thornton doubles and is scored by Rayford with a sacrifice bunt. The Chcickasaws manage their only run of the nignt in the fourth with a lead off walk, followed up by the only tow hits of the game. The Pioneers respond with three runs of their own when lead off batter Platt triples and is scored by Davidson with his nightcap homer. Milum walks, and is relieved by McMullin who is advanced by Thornton on a hit and scored by Palase on another. The bottom of the fifth will push the Pioneers over the top with three more runs. Lead off batter Rayford walks, steals to third and scores on a passed ball. Platt walks takes second on the same passed balll and eventually scores on a wild pitch. the last score of the evening comes from McMullin who had relieved Milum after a walk. The RBI belongs to Thornton who hits the game ending double. hitting for the Pioneers; Thornton(2x2b,1b) Angel(hr,2b,1b) Platt(3b,1b) Eary(2x2b) Davidson(hr) Palase(1b)

The Pioneers play tonight at 8:45 with White Hall in the opening round of the Pioneer Classic.
